Dusty Cole’s One-on-One with Rocky Porch Moore

Rocky and her husband Russ are long time educators in Baldwin County. Russ is currently the principal at Foley High School and Rocky teaches at Fairhope High school where she stays busy teaching subjects such as English and Literature, Oral Communications, Creative Writing, and yearbook production. After many years of dreaming of writing a novel, her dream came true recently with the publishing of Clemenceau's Daughters.

Rocky recently had her book published, Clemenceau’s Daughters. This interview took place in her 'Writing Cottage' which was built and paid for with the proceeds from her first book she published, a children’s book titled It's Farm Market Day. Rocky has taught English and Literature for many years in the Baldwin County School system. Her dream was to write “The Great American Novel”. She says, with enthusiasim and excitement, “I finally got around to it!”. She explains her idea of how family resemblances pass down from generation to generation and the thought of what if personality traits could pass down the same way. All of the characters in the book are fictional, but the setting is quite real. There is a tree that plays a major role in the story. That tree can be found on her farm in south Baldwin County. The novel is a great read and can be purchased HERE.

Below are some upcoming events and award ceremonies where Rocky will receive praise for her work.
